[QS]: live painting @ the Japanese Tea Garden, SFThis weekend, Monkey and Seal had open studios in partnership with Big Umbrella Studios and ArtSpan. I had a great time talking to people about art and my painting process. I found an awesome new homes for a couple of my paintings.
Sunday morning, I went with Alexis to the Japanese Tea Garden. Alexis pointed out to me this gnarly tree joined at the base. It was very impressive and had a lot of textures. It was inspiring to see. The above quick study painting is from my vantage point, while Alexis painted the other side.
I took liberties with my color palettes. I would like to go back and add more details to some of the foliage found on the ground, but overall, I had a great time. Thanks Alexis!
